Starring Liam Neeson, Jessica Lange, John Hurt, this film is a biography of Rob Roy MacGregor, a Highland farmer and clan leader in 1700s Scotland, who is forced to borrow money from the duplicitous aristocrat Marquis of Montrose to help his clan survive a harsh winter. Things go well until Montrose’s wicked hired hands Killearn and Cunningham end up killing Rob Roy’s close friend McDonald and stealing the loan money.
